Replacing Magnet and Silicone on Ratio Glass Carafes
If you're replacing the silicone carafe bottom and magnet on the bottom of your Ratio Glass Carafe, these instructions will come in handy. We will include additional information, specifically about the Eight Original with the fully updated firmware.
How do I replace the magnet and silicone?
Once you receive the new magnet and silicone pad, simply peel off the current silicone padding and remove the magnet. If you want, you can clean the bottom of the carafe using warm, soapy water or Goo Gone to remove any residual stickiness. Place the new magnet in the center, peel off the backing on the new silicone pad, and firmly stick it on top of the magnet.

Three Flashing Lights with the Eight Original
If your Eight Original recently received a firmware update with our warranty team, and you're experiencing three flashing lights without failure, this could be related to the magnet on your carafe. Some past batches of carafes had weaker magnets, including glass carafes and thermal carafes, which may have issues registering after receiving the updated firmware from November 2024. Our new magnets are stronger than any batches with the weaker magnets, and replacing your magnet can resolve this discrepancy.
If you think this may describe your experience, let our team know, and we are happy to help.
