Flashing 3 Lights AFTER Finishing Brewing

If all three indicator lights flash after brewing on your Ratio Six, it may be an early sign that your machine is overheating and requires attention.

Limescale

If you've owned your machine for some time, this behavior is often caused by limescale buildup inside the heating system. When limescale is allowed to accumulate due to infrequent descaling, the machine may begin shutting off mid-brew and flashing all three indicator lights. If your machine is shutting off mid-brew and leaving water in the water tank, reference this article.

If the water tank is empty and this is the first time you've noticed this behavior, it may simply be a sign that your machine needs to be descaled more frequently. Addressing it now can help prevent heavier limescale buildup and keep your machine operating properly.

Descaling your Ratio Six

Regardless of water quality, it's essential to descale your machine monthly, using a liquid descaling solution designed for drip coffee makers. Our Ratio Six descaling instructions can be found here

After descaling your machine, if you continue to see this behavior, reach out to our Customer Experience team at hello@ratiocoffee.com. If you can, send us a video to reference so we can provide you with the best information!
