Ratio Eight Series 2 Carafe Cleaning
How to Clean your Ratio Eight Series 2 Glass Carafe and Thermal Carafe
Cleaning your Ratio accessories has never been made easier, with the updated Eight Series 2 Glass and Thermal Carafe design! The opening of the carafes allow for easy access to the internal chamber, making cleaning simple. It's okay to rinse the interal part of your carafe after each use. Periodically, it's recommended to using a drop of soap and water or deep cleaning with a product such as Urnex Clearly Coffee to remove built up coffee oils inside your carafe. Ratio accessories are not dishwasher safe, and avoiding cleaning the exterior of the carafe with anything abrasive is highly recommended. Below are more instructions and tips for cleaning your Eight Series 2 Carafes inside and out.
Cleaning the Outside of your Eight Series 2 Machine and Carafe
For cleaning your carafe's external surfaces, we recommend using a microfiber towel. It’s handy for wiping up spills and moisture with a bit of warm water and a touch of soap. A microfiber towel gently cleans most spills and mild stains on your machine.
Be sure to check the shower head periodically, as coffee oils may build up there with regular use and may require a bit more attention. Lastly, be sure not to leave water or coffee grounds under your carafe when placed on the machine's surface. For the best results, wipe up the water or coffee grounds in this area after using your Ratio to avoid water spots, coffee oil buildup, and scuffing.
Removing Coffee Oils Inside your Carafe with Urnex Clearly Coffee
Coffee is full of oils – they’re part of what makes coffee delicious, but they also build up in your carafe and dripper. Luckily, removing them is easy! We recommend cleaning the inside of your Ratio carafe using Clearly Coffee from Urnex, which safely removes and prevents coffee oil buildup and limescale buildup.

- After the cycle, allow the inside of your carafe to soak for 5-10 minutes, then discard the solution and thoroughly rinse with clean water.
- For a deeper clean, use a brush to scrub the inside of your carafe after soaking.
