Read below for a detailed look at each component, including whether it comes into contact with hot water. - Water Tank — constructed of Eastman Tritan TX2001, a high-quality, shatter-resistant, BPA-free polymer plastic. **No hot water contact**. We use the bare minimum needed, and only two gaskets are in the hot water pathway. **Hot water contact**. - Heating Element — rapid flash, aluminum heating element. Water briefly passes through for about 2 inches before continuing through the water lines and out the shower head.
