Repackaging your Ratio Eight Series 2
Thank you for taking the time to carefully repackage your Ratio Eight Series 2. Proper packaging is extremely important to help prevent damage during transit. Please follow the steps below as closely as possible.
Important Notes Before You Begin:
Please include your order information inside the box.
If your machine arrives damaged due to improper packaging, or is returned excessively dirty from use, we reserve the right to apply a restocking fee of up to 20% of the original purchase price.
If you no longer have the original packaging, please use a sturdy box with approximate dimensions of 17” L x 16” W x 12” H and pack the machine as securely as possible.
If you still have the original packaging, please follow the instructions below carefully.
Materials Needed
- Original molded pulp inserts and retail box
- Outer shipping box
- Original plastic bag for the machine, or a clean unused trash bag
- Protective foam or similar soft wrapping material
- Packing tape
- Return label or labels provided by Ratio

Step 1: Prepare the Glass Carafe
- Place the silicone heat shield inside the glass carafe.
- Do not place the glass carafe lid on the carafe during repackaging.
- Set the glass carafe into the brown molded pulp insert with the handle facing downward into the carved-out section of the pulp.
- Make sure the carafe sits securely and fully inside the molded pulp.

Step 2: Wrap the Loose Accessories
- Wrap the glass carafe lid in protective padding, such as the thin foam it originally came in.
- Wrap the metal drip catcher separately in protective padding as well.
- Once both pieces are wrapped, place the wrapped glass carafe lid inside the wrapped metal drip catcher.
- Then place both of those wrapped pieces inside the metal dripper/filter basket.
- After that, wrap the entire dripper/filter basket in protective foam padding as well.

Step 3: Pack the Carafe and Filter Basket Assembly
- Place the wrapped filter basket assembly into the molded pulp slot above the glass carafe.
- Make sure all pieces are neatly seated and do not shift around.
- Once everything is in place, close the molded pulp by placing the top pulp piece over the glass carafe and filter basket.
- Tape the molded pulp shut on both sides where the two pulp pieces meet

Step 4: Protect the Machine with the Plastic Bag
- Place the plastic bag over the machine.
- Position the bag so the opening of the bag is toward the front of the machine, and the closed bottom of the bag sits toward the back.
- Carefully fold and tuck the plastic so it protects all exposed areas of the machine, including:
- The base where the carafe sits
- The shower head area
- The water tank
- The bottom tank support
- No part of the machine should be exposed. The entire machine should be covered by the plastic bag to help prevent scuffing during transit.

Step 5: Insert the Carafe Pulp into the Machine Base
- Take the molded pulp insert containing the glass carafe and filter basket assembly and slide it into the base of the machine.
- As you do this, make sure the hole in the molded pulp aligns properly with the shower head.
- It should sit neatly within the machine base without forcing it.

Step 6: Place the Machine into the Retail Box
- Lift the machine carefully and lower it into the retail box.
- Gently maneuver it until it slides properly into the bottom molded pulp insert.
- Once the machine is seated, place the top machine pulp piece over the top of the machine.
- The power cord can rest inside the cutout on the top pulp insert.

Step 7: Place the Retail Box into the Outer Shipping Box
- Once the machine is fully packed inside the retail box, place the retail box into the thicker outer shipping box it originally arrived in.
- This outer box is very important for shipping protection.
- Seal the outer shipping box securely with packing tape.
- Place the UPS return label on the top right corner of the outer box.
If You Are Also Returning a Thermal Carafe
- If you are returning a thermal carafe as well, it must be packed in its own separate box.
- Before boxing it, wrap the thermal carafe in a plastic bag.
- Then place it into the original box it arrived in.
- Seal that box securely with packing tape.
- Apply the second return label provided to the top of that box.

Final Packing Tips
- Make sure nothing inside the box is loose or able to shift during shipping
- Do not allow cardboard to rest directly against finished machine surfaces without protective material in between
- Ensure all glass and metal components are wrapped and cushioned
- Double check that the machine is fully covered by plastic before placing it into the pulp inserts
- Use plenty of tape so both the inner packaging and outer shipping box stay secure in transit
If you are unsure whether everything is packed correctly, it is always better to add more protective padding than less.
Thank you for taking the time to repackage your Ratio Eight Series 2 securely. Every machine that makes it back to us in resalable condition limits our environmental impact and ensures no restocking fee will be applied.
