Cleaning your Ratio Four Glass Carafe Daily

After daily use, it's okay and normal to simply rinse the carafe with water, and let dry. Coffee oils will build up over time, even when rising, so giving your carafe a weekly hand-wash with a little dish soap will prevent such buildup from occurring over time. It's always good practice to not use cleaning tools that are abrasive, and we don't recommend putting the carafe in your dishwasher. Try to prevent the silicone bottom on your carafe staying wet too long, by keeping it away from water or drying this area after washing.

When cleaning the glass carafe lid, remove the silicone gasket to ensure you're thoroughly cleaning all parts, without allowing moisture to become trapped. To reattach the gasket, make sure the protruding tabs are facing away from the top part of the lid, as these tabs allow the lid to stay in place when placed in the carafe opening.

Removing Coffee Oils with Urnex Clearly Coffee

Coffee is full of oils – they’re part of what makes coffee delicious, but they also build up in your carafe and dripper. Luckily, removing them is easy! We recommend cleaning the inside of your Ratio carafe using Clearly Coffee from Urnex, which safely removes and prevents coffee oil buildup and limescale buildup.

1. Insert a paper filter into your filter basket or dripper. Add one packet of cleaning powder into the paper filter and run 4 cups of water through your Ratio machine.
2. After the cycle, allow the inside of your carafe to soak for 5-10 minutes, then discard the solution and thoroughly rinse with clean water.
3. For a deeper clean, use a brush to scrub the inside of your carafe after soaking.
