Ratio Four: Excessive Condensation

Have you noticed an unusual amount of condensation leaving the sides of the filter basket while brewing on your Ratio Four? There are a few things to check in case you notice this.

Is Excess Condensation Bad?

Condensation is normal when it comes to brewing with your coffee maker. With that being said, there is a point where condensation can be excessive. Below are some of the things to look out for.

1. Check your Ratio Four's Filter Basket.
   1. The filter basket should not rock when face-down on a flat surface. If the opening of the filter basket is rocking when face-down on the flat surface, this could mean the basket is warped, and should be replaced to prevent condensation from escaping the basket while brewing.
2. Descale your Ratio.
   1. It's possible that if you don't descale often, or you have not descaled your machine at all, that this could produce excessive condensation. In these cases, be sure to descale monthly.
3. Ensure you're filling the water tank with cold/room temperature water only before brewing.
