Ratio Four Filter Basket Troubleshooting

In this article, we will be covering a couple of thing that can pop up with the Ratio Four filter basket. Overflow

If you're experiencing overflow with your filter basket, there are things you can do to resolve this. Please reference our troubleshooting for overflow here. 

Overflow can be prevented by using a coarser grind size, not using too much coffee grounds, and using the right filter, to name a few. 

Excess Steam

Are you seeing excess steam leaving the filter basket? This may be due to the filter basket opening being uneven, . A slight warp could allow a small pocket where steam could escape from the side of the filter basket. 

To test whether your filter basket is warped, remove the filter basket from your machine, and place the opening face down on a completely flat surface. If you notice the filter basket rocks in any way, while it should just remain flat, take note and let our team know.

Starting the Machine by Mistake

If the machine is starts the brew cycle while you are inserting the Ratio Four filter basket, it could be that the start button is pressed by mistake. This can happen if not being careful to not press the start button, specifically with the Ratio Four Series 1 filter basket. We upgraded the Series 2 version with a filter basket that has a longer handle to help prevent this.
