Troubleshooting issues with your Ratio Eight Original Carafe
Water leaking from the handle
This issue can occur when the gasket or seal that attaches the handle to the carafe becomes damaged or slips out of place. If you are experiencing this issue, please reach out to our team at hello@ratiocoffee.com with a picture or video, and we can help you with the next steps to get this resolved.
Trapped water / Water leaking from the base
In the base of the Ratio Eight Carafe, there is a chamber that insulates the double-walled insulation from shocks and houses the magnet that communicates to the brewer that the carafe is in place. While the tolerances that seal this chamber are tight, water can enter this chamber and become trapped if your carafe is submerged under water or held under a running faucet for an extended period of time.
If you are experiencing this issue, the water can be drained by tipping the carafe at an angle and allowing it to rest. To avoid experiencing this issue again in the future, we suggest following the cleaning instructions in this help article.
